As Energy Segment Leader, Federal, Chris Mills is responsible for managing Southland's federal energy efficiency business, providing oversight of sales and business development through close coordination with engineering and operations teams. He is tasked with securing long-term sustainable growth by focusing on federal clients whose needs align with Southland's unique strengths, while ensuring superior delivery of mission critical solutions. Chris is also committed to identifying and hiring new sales and development talent to build an industry-leading federal team. 

Chris has over 35 years of experience in the building services and energy industry — with the last 11 years dedicated solely to federal energy efficiency and resilience. He leverages his extensive background in sales, operations, and general management roles to drive Southland's success.

Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University. He has participated in numerous technical and professional development courses and has facilitated training for sales and operations personnel. In the federal space, Chris has been involved in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Federal Utility Partnership Working Group (FUPWG), and the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO).
