Southland is uniquely qualified to provide broader, deeper, and more impactful solutions for customers. We have the extensive in-house capabilities of a large design-build MEP company, and the nimbleness of a small business — able to adapt and respond quickly to our clients' ever-changing needs and priorities.

As Energy Segment Leader, East Region & Federal, Chris Mills is responsible for managing Southland's energy efficiency and infrastructure business across the federal and public and private sectors. Additionally, Chris oversees sales and business development through close coordination with engineering and operations teams.

Tasked with securing long-term sustainable growth by focusing on clients whose needs align with Southland's unique strengths, Chris ensures superior delivery of mission critical solutions. He is also committed to identifying and hiring new sales and development talent to build an industry-leading team.

Chris has over 35 years of experience in the building services and energy industry — with the last 11 years dedicated solely to federal energy efficiency and resilience. He leverages his extensive background in sales, operations, and general management roles to drive Southland's success.

Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University. He has participated in numerous technical and professional development courses and has facilitated training for sales and operations personnel. In the federal space, Chris has been involved in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Federal Utility Partnership Working Group (FUPWG), and the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO).
