Overview

Opened in October 2024, Pixar Place Hotel is the first and only hotel in the world designed to celebrate all the films of Pixar Animation Studios.

Combining contemporary design with whimsical Pixar artistry, the hotel offers an immersive experience from the lobby to the rooftop pool deck. Each room features Pixar-themed furnishings, artwork created by Pixar Animation Studios, and modern amenities expected from a Disneyland Resort hotel. Conveniently located near Downtown Disney District and the theme park entrances, the 479-room, 13-story, 2-tower hotel provides a one-of-a-kind stay for guests.

Our Approach

Our team managed the plumbing and mechanical scope of work for the transformation of Paradise Pier Hotel into the Pixar Place Hotel. Key plumbing tasks included replacing waste and vent risers, domestic water systems, branch piping, and bathroom fixtures. On the mechanical side, we replaced the guest room and elevator corridor fan coil units, along with branch piping. This project posed a unique challenge: ensuring uninterrupted hotel operations during construction while meeting an accelerated timeline.

To overcome these challenges, our field teams worked diligently, achieving significant productivity milestones. Using Field Orderz, an innovative field detailing software, our plumbing team detailed 1 tower (236 rooms) in just 108 hours. Additionally, close collaboration with Disneyland's facilities team allowed us to enhance the plumbing system by identifying and repairing existing leaks and replacing additional valves, ensuring long-term reliability and value for the client.

Result

The Pixar Place Hotel sets a new standard for collaboration between Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. With high-end amenities like a spa and in-room celebrations, the hotel offers guests an unparalleled experience where they can unlock the magic of Pixar storytelling. The successful completion of this project, delivered on time and with enhanced systems, not only elevates the guest experience, but also strengthens our partnership with Disney.
