Overview

Southland provided general contracting services overseeing project trade contractors as well as the prefabrication and installation of all necessary mechanical systems for process vent system upgrades to an aircraft paint hangar. The paint hangar measured 100 feet tall with a footprint large enough to house a Boeing 777 jetliner.

Our Approach

Southland served as the prime contractor, carrying all mechanical, gas piping, controls, insulation, electrical, TAB, concrete, roofing, fire protection, and structural steel for exhaust fan stacks.

Extensive pre-planning was required due to the four-week installation schedule with extremely limited access to the facility based on the client's production schedule. The height and size of the building also required extra consideration for the placement of equipment as well as safety protocols.

Result

Southland completed structural steel upgrades, electrical, fire sprinkler, and controls work. The installation took 25 days from start to substantial completion. Overall, Southland successfully completed the project and maintained client satisfaction.
