Overview

Boeing's aircraft paint hangar, located in Portland, Oregon, stands 100 feet tall and is large enough to accommodate a Boeing 777 aircraft.

To support Boeing's ongoing operations at the site, we delivered direct-to-owner services across multiple projects. Our scope included managing trade contractors and overseeing the prefabrication and installation of all required mechanical systems for a process vent system upgrade within the hangar.

Our Approach

We served as the prime contractor, carrying all mechanical, gas piping, controls, insulation, electrical, test and balance (TAB), concrete, roofing, fire protection, and structural steel for exhaust fan stacks.

Extensive pre-planning was required due to the four-week installation schedule with extremely limited access to the facility based on the client's production schedule. The height and size of the building also required extra consideration for the placement of equipment as well as safety protocols.

Result

We completed structural steel upgrades, electrical, fire sprinkler, and controls work. The installation took 25 days from start to substantial completion. Overall, we successfully completed the project and maintained client satisfaction.
