Harris Health Systems

Overview 

Harris Health Systems operates 28 healthcare facilities across Harris County, Texas, including 16 primary care clinics, 3 same-day clinics, 7 specialty care clinics, and 2 of the county's largest hospitals. 

Since 2014, Southland Industries has partnered with Harris Health to provide plumbing, mechanical, and electrical support, ensuring the facilities remain fully operational for the county's population of 4.9 million residents. Our services support Harris Health's mission of providing high-quality, accessible healthcare and maintaining facility readiness during emergencies, extreme weather events, and other critical situations. 

Our Approach 

We have provided plumbing job order contract (JOC) services to Harris Health Systems for 10 consecutive years, delivering 24-hour, 7-day-a-week emergency service, preventive maintenance, and small project support across all 28 locations.

Over the course of nine years, our team completed 3,422 service calls, all while maintaining zero recordable incidents. 

We coordinate closely with facility staff to manage service calls and special projects, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care. Our work includes both ongoing service and construction projects, allowing us to support large-scale mechanical and electrical upgrades alongside routine plumbing maintenance. Over the past decade, we have responded to hurricanes, flooding, and a major freezing event, ensuring Harris Health facilities maintained continuous operations and readiness to serve the community.

Our long-standing partnership with Harris Health Systems has allowed us to deliver reliable, high-quality plumbing and MEP services, minimize downtime, and ensure emergency readiness across all 28 facilities. 

Continuation of the JOC positions us to expand mechanical and electrical support and deploy 10 service technicians dedicated to maintaining optimal facility operations.
