Southland Industries Names Josh Getz Chief Information Officer and Scott Winkler Senior Vice President of Engineering

Oct. 8, 2026

Dulles, VA – Southland Industries today announced Josh Getz has been named Chief Information Officer and Scott Winkler has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Engineering, effective October 1, 2026. Following Jim Meacham's transition to CEO, the appointments elevate two executives who have spent years growing within Southland, a national leader in MEP building systems.

Josh Getz, Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer, Josh oversees all technology at Southland. His responsibilities include strategy and planning; architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) and virtual design and construction (VDC) technologies; business systems; infrastructure and cybersecurity; technology delivery and application management; and the company's data, analytics and AI practice. He most recently served as Vice President, Information Technology.

Josh joined Southland as an intern in 2006 and began his career as a computer-aided design (CAD) operator before helping lead the company's enterprise BIM strategy. He went on to build Southland's AEC technologies function, overseeing design, fabrication, and construction technology, and led the integration of the company's VDC teams across the country into the IT organization. That function is now expanding into preconstruction, supply chain, and building operations. Josh is focused on expanding how Southland uses its data to support better, faster decisions, with a clear process for evaluating, piloting and scaling AI and other emerging technologies.

"Technology works best when it's built around how our teams actually work," said Josh Getz, Chief Information Officer. "Our goal is to connect it from design through fabrication, construction, and building operations so it becomes a real advantage for our teams and our clients."

Scott Winkler, Senior Vice President of Engineering

As Senior Vice President of Engineering, Scott will support and oversee every all of Southland's divisions, further integrating the company's engineering resources across the enterprise. He most recently served as Vice President of Engineering for Southland's Mid-Atlantic Division, where he oversaw the MEP design, BIM, and coordination departments whose work supports permitting, clash detection, and shop fabrication.

Scott joined Southland in 2000 to build the engineering capability behind the company's design-build work on the Pentagon renovation, a program that came to include reconstruction following September 11, 2001. Since then, he has led engineering on large, complex projects for federal, healthcare, and commercial clients. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, Certified in Plumbing Engineering, and a Certified Energy Manager, and holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University.

"Engineering is at the heart of how Southland delivers design-build," said Scott Winkler, Senior Vice President of Engineering. "Bringing greater integration to engineering across all of our divisions means more consistency and certainty of outcome for our clients, wherever they build with us."
