Dulles, VA – Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest MEP building systems experts providing engineering, construction, service and energy service solutions, was recently awarded the Marriott Residence Inn Baltimore at Johns Hopkins Medical Campus in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to Southland, the design-build project team includes Gensler, Delon Hampton, M.C. Dean, and Schuster.
Southland will provide mechanical and plumbing services for the 228,000 square foot, 15-story hotel building that will include 194 guest rooms, three floors of podium space, first floor retail space, and a penthouse restaurant. Envise will perform startup, testing, adjusting, and balancing, as well as controls services for the project, which is part of the ongoing revitalization plan to rebuild East Baltimore.
With a goal of LEED Silver certification, the project's construction phase is currently underway. Overall project completion is anticipated by August 2017.
