Union City, CA – Southland Energy, a division of Southland Industries was recently awarded the Union City energy efficiency project in Union City, California. The upgrades are a result of customer Union City's desire to add solar energy and update the existing building infrastructure to include more efficient mechanical systems.
The design-build performance-based energy project features multiple mixed-use facilities that include fire stations, a senior center, a city hall, a teen center, and a community center. Southland Energy's scope includes the installation of solar photo-voltaic systems, new HVAC equipment, building analytics, and a new building automation system. Once completed, the project is anticipated to reduce the city's annual energy costs by 20 percent.
The project's design phase is currently underway with construction to begin in April 2017. Overall project completion is anticipated for July 2017.
