The Six Essentials to Lean Project Success

Jan. 22, 2020

Podcast | Engineered Systems

Buildings are built from the ground up – founded on successful planning, followed by a series of steps and sequences that likely will result in a finished product. In this episode of Engineered Systems podcast Percussive Maintenance, Mike Morder, design engineer from Southland Industries' Mid-Atlantic Division, shares six ways that engineering professionals can effectively shift to a Lean mindset on a project. He discusses how to reduce waste and effectively use resources to achieve the end goal while communicating effectively to actively get everyone involved. "Lean is a mindset shift. It brings success to projects when everyone buys into the approach," explains Morder. "Design is serving construction. And as simple as that sounds, a lot of people tend to forget that we're here to build a building."
