The Secretary of the Army awarded United States Army Garrison (USAG) Fort Riley, KS with the 2022 Energy and Water Management Award for Energy Efficiency for the third phase of a multi-phased Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Southland Industries.
The objectives of the Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Award Program are to recognize the energy and water conservation achievements and programs of individuals, small groups, and garrisons and to provide an added incentive to further reduce energy and water consumption.
This is the third Secretary of the Army installation award for the Southland – Fort Riley collaborative ESPC project effort. In 2020, the award was presented to Fort Riley for Phase One of the ESPC, and in 2019 the award was presented to Fort Riley for the garrison's overall efficiency program.
