COVID-19 affected the market significantly, altering how many industries operate. For the construction industry, it proved to be even more difficult having to protect jobsites and active construction workers. When asked about the impact of COVID-19 to companies and their employees, Ted Lynch, CEO, Southland Industries said, "We haven't seen a lot of people deciding not to come to work. Many are grateful to still have a job." Southland continues to make strides during the pandemic and has continued to hire. "Now is the time to be opportunistic in recruiting people," Lynch said. Despite the turbulent market, Southland has been ranked #4 on The Top 50 Firms in Mechanical, #14 on The Top 20 Firms in Fire Protection and Sprinklers and #20 on The Top 600 List.
