The 2024 ENR California's Best Projects celebrate a diverse range of projects featuring innovative design and construction techniques. This year, nearly 100 entries were submitted for consideration. After careful review, an independent panel of judges selected 57 projects for recognition — 30 as Best Projects and 27 with Awards of Merit. Southland is proud to announce that the YouTube Campus Expansion was honored with an Award of Merit in the Office/Retail/Mixed-Use category.
Southland served as the Engineer of Record, completing the mechanical and plumbing design for the project. The scope of work included a remote all-electric 830-ton central utility plant (CUP), underground hydronic distribution, and 2 mass timber office buildings equipped with raised floor air distribution and overhead radiant heating and cooling.
