Lean Construction Institute (LCI) honored the awardee of the second annual Design Award. This year, LCI recognized the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Neurosciences Building team. The team delivered a world-class neuroscience research facility over four and a half years of design construction. The team committed to advancing innovation and quality, while maintaining an accelerated construction schedule.
Over 100 members of the design and construction team, owner's representatives, design-build MEPF subcontractors, and others worked at the onsite Big Room during the design and construction process. This collaborative approach was the most successful Lean tactic implemented during the project.
