Hensel Phelps, in partnership with Southland Industries' Mid-Atlantic Division, was presented with the Excellence in Teaming Award by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) for their work on the Washington Convention Center Alternate Care Facility. The Excellence in Teaming Award recognizes exemplary applications of design-build done right that, at a minimum, resulted in highly successful design-build projects, achieving best value while meeting design and construction quality, cost, and schedule goals. Southland was recognized for their contribution on the project, meeting advanced and innovative application of total Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), including design-build best practices.
