Southland Supports Construction Suicide Prevention Week

This Construction Suicide Prevention Week, Southland joins our industry partners to acknowledge and raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention within the AEC Industry.  

"For every 100,000 workers, 45.3 will die by suicide compared to the national average rate of 14.2. This means that a person working in construction is 3.5 times more likely to die by suicide," Matthew Black, Corporate Safety Manager, says.  

At Southland, part of our work to support our employees' well-being is focusing on the implementation of Lean construction practices to place a strong emphasis on health and safety in the field, shop, and workplace.
