The Northern California Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) presents the East Bay Uniform Code Committee (EBUCC) Educational Forum, under direction from the Codes and Standards Committee. This forum is intended to advance the cause of electrical safety and improve the quality of electrical construction. The EBUCC Educational Forums are every third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m., excluding June–August and December.

Join Michael Starego, Principal Engineer, as he co-presents with Steve Eaves from VoltServer on Fault Managed Power (FMP). Mike and Steve will discuss the various Classes of wiring as defined in the National Electrical Code, and how Fault Managed Power, or Class 4, wiring was integrated into the 2023 version of the NEC. This will be followed by a deep dive into how FMP works, along with advantages and challenges in implementation of the technology. They will conclude with showing examples of installed applications as well as proposed solutions currently under design or study.
