Southland Industries Partners with Critchfield Mechanical on High Performance Computing Center Project

Critchfield Mechanical and Southland Industries, two of the nation's largest design-build mechanical contracting firms, have formed a joint venture in order to perform mechanical and plumbing work on the recently awarded High Performance Computing Center (HPCC2) project at Fort Meade, Maryland. As the contracting authority, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Baltimore District will oversee the project.
The HPCC2 project's design-build team is led by Hensel Phelps/Kiewit Joint Venture and includes Gensler, Syska Hennessy Group, M.C. Dean, and Critchfield-Southland. The scope of work for which Critchfield-Southland will be responsible is comprised of HVAC, sheet metal, plumbing, and controls services. Overall, the facility will be designed to achieve LEED Silver certification and is estimated to reach completion by September 2015.
