Garden Grove, CA
Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest MEP building systems experts providing engineering, construction, service and energy service solutions, recently hosted its Annual Southern California Golf Tournament in La Habra Heights, CA. Held at Hacienda Golf Club, the profits from the tournament were donated to the American Heart Association and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).
“We are proud to support two very worthy charities that remain dedicated to the Southern California community,” said Chris Taylor, Division Leader of Southland’s Southern California Division. Taylor continued with, “Through the contribution of our business partners and the unwavering support of those within our organization, we were able to raise over $74,000, making this another successful year.”
“Year after year Southland Industries continues to be a lead sponsor of the Orange County Division of the American Heart Association. Heart disease is the number one killer of all Americans, but with Southland’s continued support, the American Heart Association is changing that statistic,” commented Tara Gurlides, Business Development Director at the American Heart Association. She continued with, “Funds raised from the tournament will help us fund life-saving research, educate lawmakers to protect the health of our communities, provide treatment guidelines to healthcare professionals, and be the nation’s leader in CPR training.”
CHOC Children’s Hospital has consistently been committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children. Expressing gratitude for Southland’s contribution, Director of Special Events at CHOC Children’s Foundation Zach Abrams said, “Southland's tireless efforts in raising vital funds and awareness for the care, treatment, and research that CHOC provides children and families in Southern California is humbling.” Abrams continued with, “Two million children rely on CHOC for care and Southland Industries is there every step of the way helping us achieve its vital mission. We are excited that Southland is back as a sponsor for the 2016 CHOC Walk in the Park and humbled by their generosity and support.”
