Southland CEO, Ted Lynch Takes Culture of CARE Pledge

Oct. 7, 2021 – Launched in spring of 2020,the Culture of CARE is an initiative created in partnership between the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the AGC of Washington to advance the construction industry as the industry of choice for diverse and talented workers by building inclusive work environments in construction firms nationwide.

This year, Southland Industries’ CEO Ted Lynch took the pledge to CARE: Commit, Attract, Retain, and Empower. By pledging, Lynch states his belief that every individual has the right to work in an environment that is free from harassment, hazing, and bullying. This includes his commitment to doing his part in building a culture that is diverse, safe, welcoming, and inclusive by taking action to ensure that unwelcome, offensive, and discriminatory or harassing language and behavior is not tolerate at Southland.  

Coinciding with Culture of CARE’s mission to influence, champion change, and cultivate a more inclusive construction industry, Culture of CARE, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and the AGC have created Construction Inclusion Week (CIW). This inaugural effort, kicking off on October 18, 2021, will build awareness of the need to improve diversity and inclusion by providing content and resources. Southland is excited to announce its participation in the first Construction Inclusion Week.
