Dulles, VA

The Mid-Atlantic Division recently raised over $1,800 for the ASHRAE / Dave Peters Scholarship Fund during their 6th Annual Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament. The tournament was held at the Dulles office and drew over 30 players who played at either $50 or $100 tables. Half of the entry fees and buy-ins went to the scholarship program, while the other half was used to pay out the top three winners in each of the tournaments.
Senior Design Engineer Dennis Cavallaro won first place in the $100 tournament, while Peter Harber from Pritchett Controls took second place.  Southland Foreman Jerry Brown locked in third place, and both Peter and Jerry each contributed an additional $100 form their winnings to the cause.  Dennis also donated $500 of his winnings to the recovery fund of a Mid-Atlantic employee who recently suffered from a stroke.
Senior Design Engineer Andy Tech played his cards right and won the $50 tournament. Project Manager John Carbonneau secured second place, while Marketing Coordinator Kelly Woggon was able to bluff her way to third place.  Also worth noting is that Andy Tech donated $100 of his winnings to the scholarship fund.  Overall the event was a great success and the Mid-Atlantic division would like to thank Ferguson and Victaulic for their support.
