Wednesday, November 3, 2021 - 17:30 to 18:30

Event | College Park, MD

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) is the professional society representing those practicing in the field of fire protection engineering. The University of Maryland (UMD) has the only Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) fire protection engineering program in the United States. Additionally, SFPE student chapter members are given a chance to interact with fellow fire protection engineering professionals and students.

Join keynote speakers, Will Higgins, Design Engineer II, and Tim Cunningham, Design Engineer I, as they discuss the design of fire protection systems for a lab facility containing a high quantity of flammable liquids. The presentation will cover preliminary design considerations, special hazards including spray booth exhaust ducts, and ignitable liquid secondary containment and drainage.
