The Washington Building Congress (WBC) has selected The National Museum of African-American History and Culture project in Washington, DC for a Craftsmanship Award in the mechanical category for HVAC and sheet metal.
WBC is a local organization that recognizes the skills of craftsmen through the Craftsmanship Awards Program - an annual celebration of excellent work performed in the local industry. The annual Craftsmanship Awards is the only program which recognizes the outstanding skill and achievement of individual craftsmen in the local metro DC construction community.
A jury of industry experts will evaluate project submission primarily on successful achievement of the owner’s project goals through implementation of design-build best practices as defined by DBIA’s Design-Build Manual of Practice. Submissions should highlight the design-build team’s collaborative efforts to add value to the project.
Southland Industries has been named to the Washington Business Journal’s 2015 Book of Lists for Metro DC Engineering Firms. Southland Industries was listed the 24th top engineering firm ranked by the number metro-area registered engineers as of 2015. The Book of Lists consists of top companies in the area, arranged by industry, and is based on the company’s annual revenue, engineering billing, amount of registered engineers within the metro area and companywide, as well as the total number of employees.
Southland Engineering has been named to the Consulting-Specifying Engineer 2015 MEP Giants list. Southland Engineering was listed the ninth top firm by gross annual revenue and sixtieth for the overall top MEP Giants list. The MEP Giants program, sponsored by Eaton, lists the top mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire protection engineering firms in the United States, who have continuously proven a commitment to meeting the ever-evolving challenges of clients.
