As Southland's CEO, Dr. Lynch is responsible for effectively and efficiently leading the company's divisions using the strategic visions he has worked to put in place with Southland's Board of Directors, while also developing Southland's growth strategies. He ensures the company is constantly striving to develop superior solutions, push for innovation, and deliver quality work. With extensive experience in developing the design-build-maintain delivery method, he has contributed greatly to Southland's success during his career with the company.

After relocating to Southland's Mid-Atlantic Division as a contract executive, he then served as operations manager before being promoted to division leader in 2001. Through employment of the design-build delivery method, project teaming, innovative engineering solutions and operational excellence, Dr. Lynch was able to grow the Mid-Atlantic Division's annual volume from $32 million to $126 million during his appointment as division leader. Next, Dr. Lynch managed Southland's businesses outside of California as regional president, and soon received the responsibility of governing all Southland divisions as president. In the fall of 2011, he was promoted to CEO.
Dr. Lynch received a bachelor's degree and doctoral degree in architectural engineering from Penn State University. As a co-founder of the Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (PACE), he remains highly involved with the industry-university alliance focused on education, research and interaction. In 2012, he was named Penn State University's Outstanding Engineering Alumnus, and currently serves on the school's Industrial and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC). He is also a member of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), where he has served on the Education and Research Committee, and the Washington Building Congress (WBC).
