Southwest Division closes out Las Vegas newest hotel and casino
Southland’s contract at M Resort included design and construction services for all mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems in the low-rise, hotel tower, and central plant. The initial phase consisted of a 390-room, 12-story hotel tower, approximately 90,000 SF of gaming space, 40,000 SF of convention space, a full service spa, 3 acre pool area, 8 restaurants, and an 800,000 SF parking garage. The central plant’s current capacity is 3,900 tons of cooling (expandable to 7,800 tons) and 57,000MBH of heating (expandable to 95,000MBH).
M Resort sits on 90 acres of land which is approved for up to 3,000 hotel rooms, 3,000 condo or timeshare units, an additional 70,000 SF of gaming space, 100,000 SF of additional convention space and 1mil SF of retail. Expansion plans on the drawing board include a second hotel tower and a low-rise, mixed-use, “urban village” complex consisting of a combination of retail, office, and condominium space.
