This year marks a decade since Autodesk expanded its Revit platform to include MEP disciplines. At the time, Revit was already a viable and user-friendly design tool for architects, but many plumbing engineers quickly realized that the transition to Revit MEP, and ultimately the lead from CAD to BIM, would prove to be a challenge.

Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest MEP building systems experts, hosted its 7th Annual Tee-Off for Charity Golf Tournament on September 24th at Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket, Virginia. Southland’s Mid-Atlantic Division chose to donate proceeds from the tournament to local non-profit organizations, Loudoun Youth, Inc. and Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. In total, the tournament raised approximately $60,000 for the two beneficiaries.
“This year marked Southland’s 7th annual golf outing and, as an established business in Loudoun County, we could not have been more excited to work with the Loudoun Habitat for Humanity and Loudoun Youth charities again,” stated Mike Miller, Southland’s Mid-Atlantic Division Leader. “We continue to be grateful for the support that our clients, vendors, and subcontractors in the engineering and construction industry provide us each fall. It’s through their generosity that we can continue to build a stronger community here in Loudoun County,” Miller continued.
Southland Industries Offers Analytics, Building Automation, and Equipment Lifecycle Management through New Subsidiary, Envise

As a building management systems integrator, Envise will focus on analytics, building management systems, and equipment lifecycle management in order to optimize building performance for customers’ facilities.

Ms. Hoffman Starr is a veteran human resources executive with a breadth of experiences in the function including implementing best practices to optimize the employee and leader experience. In her new role, Ms. Starr will be responsible for the expansion of human capital capabilities to support the execution of Southland’s strategic goals across all business lines.
