Raising more than $34,000, Southland presented a check to the local chapter of the global, nonprofit housing organization, Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a well-known 501(c)(3) that seeks to improve lives by building homes and communities and working to eliminate substandard housing around the world through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes. For the past seven years, Southland Industries has supported their mission through annual fundraising events and home build days in Loudoun County.

“We are so grateful for the participation of our clients, vendors, and subcontractors,” said James Meacham, division leader of Southland Mid-Atlantic. “Their continued support of our golf tournament allows us to give back to our community, in a way that is meaningful to our employees. We are proud of the work that Habitat For Humanity does for local families.”

To date, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity has dedicated 52 homes which helped 199 men, women and children in Loudoun County gain access to home ownership that is affordable. Director of Resource Development for Loudon Habitat for Humanity Kari Murphy confirms that since beginning this partnership in 2013, Southland’s total financial commitment to Loudoun Habitat for Humanity has totaled over $186,000, confidently creating an incredible impact in the Loudoun County community.

“We are so deeply appreciative of Southland Industries’ commitment to their local community, specifically Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. Our partnership throughout these last few years has also allowed us to get to know their employees and business partners,” said Murphy. “It’s fun for us to see so many familiar faces year after year who also dedicate their resources to help us make an impact through our mission of providing strength, stability and self-reliance through housing.”
