Southland’s 2015 ASHRAE David C.J. Peters Scholarship Winner

As a former senior vice president of engineering, Dave Peters was one of Southland’s greatest contributors—not only in terms of technical innovation, but also for his passion for recruiting talented engineering students. After Dave passed away, the ASHRAE David C. J. Peters Scholarship in 2011 was created to honor his many accomplishments and dedication to rising young engineers. For several years now, this scholarship has been awarded to some of the industry’s most promising engineering students.

Investing in the Future of our Industry

One of the most important investments we can make is in the development of students that show an interest in our industry. Along with various speaking engagements and teaching opportunities at select universities throughout the school year, Southland participates in the annual Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 6 & 7 Competition held in Sparks, Nevada.Through a coalition of peers, we sponsor the competitive Mechanical Problem at the competition.
